While ploughing the archives for this release I found a rudimentary demo called "Who ish demo" which shows the original idea for this tune began in 1992 having recently been exposed to the Who compilation "Who's Better, Who's Best". Early in 1995 it became Girls on The Tube after a day of observing ladies on the London underground. I hear this is now illegal :-)
We recorded a version in April 1995 and that appeared on the Enellen cassette album "Millennia" and later on the RS & The Inlaws compilation "20 greatest Bits and Bobs".
This version however was recorded in Feb/March 1996 , the idea being to record a "live sounding" version to be aired on Radio Derby. It was recorded in my NG5 bedroom studio except for the drums which were recorded at Justin's Derbyshire rehearsal room, all onto a TEAC reel to reel 4 track machine.
The Brian Wilsonesque tag was recorded in January 1995 as a separate piece and is just called "Delay" on the tape box.
