about

Richard Snow and The Inlaws were born in 2005. But we'd already been a band in the 90's called Enellen. The name change only happened due to me (Richard) making a "solo" album of mostly my Enellen songs to sell on CD baby after the birth of the internet. Then I did another album as "Richard Snow" and it was getting minor interest. So with two albums out as "Richard Snow" , when it came to playing live again in 2005 , it made sense to call the band Richard and the somethings.
Originally We were Phill, Richard and Paul Hammerton (who plays most the drums on this release). Martin Casterton joined us for a while around 1992-93. Justin took over the sticks in 1996. and the band carried on for one more year before fizzling out. We made about 100 cassette copies of this album back in the day. Most of them back in 1995 with 10 tracks. But we then made some more copies in '96 featuring 4 additional new recordings featuring Justin.

Some of the songs will be familar to people who know "Richard Snow" albums and a few are the exact same takes. The rest of the songs are mostly written by Phil, and unless you had the original cassette, you probably don't know them which is a shame as there are some goodies IMO. Particularly the title track and She Don't Care. Phill also did his own project after Enellen called Sibling, but unlike me (probably because he's more prolific!) he didn't mine his old tunes, so they appear hear in the digital world for the 1st time ever!

Along side the original 10 track version mastered from the original DAT tape (mostly) there are a stack of bonus tracks that nearly made it, alternate takes, live recordings for you to paw through. Hope you enjoy our 90's shoe gazing years :)

Shortly after compiling this collection, we learned that our ex-Enellen bandmate Martin Casterton has sadly passed away, so we dedicate this digital release to him.
